Easter Island is located at 27º09 south latitude and 109º26 west longitude, 3,800 km from the central coast of Chile. The closest inhabited island is Pitcairn, 1,900 km northwest, and Easter Island’s surface is less than 170 square Kms. (46 square miles). It is a perfect triangle whose maximum length is 24 km and its maximum width only 12 km.

| Fly to Santiago via an international flight. From Santiago, travelers must take a 5-hour flight to Easter Island. You can also arrive to Easter Island flying from Tahiti (Papeete). The flight takes 5 hours. explora staff will greet and transfer guests to explora en Rapa Nui. |

| The Hotel |
Located on mythical Easter Island in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, explora en Rapa Nui –Posada de Mike Rapu– is now open.
The hotel is located on a hill in the Te Miro Oone sector, on 9.6 hectares of land that faces the sea. The hotel is situated in the southwestern zone of the island, 5.6 km from Hanga Roa – the only town on the island – and it acts as a base for exploring this attractive and mysterious island, home to a culture whose origins and evolution remain unexplained.

| Volcanic rock, native to the island and always used by the island’s inhabitants in construction, and wood from the mainland are the principal materials. The hotel has 30 guestrooms that spread out from central areas that house reception, living areas, a bar, kitchen and services. Next to the common areas is the Casa de Baños Hare Vai, with a pool, massage salon and open-air Jacuzzis. |

Visitors to explora en Rapa Nui may participate in our diverse explorations that are organized according to group size and guest preference.
Every day, we offer easy to more difficult walks that, one by one, unveil the secrets and beauty of the island. These walks are combined with picnics on rocky outcrops or along the shore, always in mesmerizing sites.

| Each day guests may choose between 5 or more different explorations that are selected according to climatic conditions, guests’ preferences, length and difficulty.
The group size maximum is 8 people, along with a bilingual guide who brings along all necessary equipment. |

1. Are medical services available?
Our guides are trained in first aid. In Hanga Roa there is a clinic that can attend to emergencies, however the closest hospital is in Santiago, in a five hour flight from the island. |

3. Can I modify the type of bed in my room?
Our rooms have king size and double beds and cannot be altered due to building configuration. An extra bed (roll – away) for children under 12 years old can be added in some rooms. |

Yes, they all do. |
5. Can I do scuba diving?
We do not offer scuba diving activities. |
6. Does explora offer horse back riding in Easter Island?
We do not have horse back riding explorations on Easter Island. |
